Smart city for wise enterprises

Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) in 2017 will be further invested to translate into a modern, smart city capable of luring more businesses and investors, domestic and foreign alike, especially those in the top 100 in the world.
Best-performing enterprises at QTSC are honored at the software city’s
16th anniversary ceremony last week

Lam Nguyen Hai Long, CEO of Quang Trung Software City Development Co., Ltd. — QTSC’s operator, uses smart utilities at work every day. When his car runs through the entrance gate, the plate number is recorded by the “Car detector” system. To enter his office, he has to be accepted by the “Face Search” system. The “Smart home” system in his room will be activated when guests enter. Long and his associates from departments are using “Helpdesk” software to handle customer feedback. At night, the public lighting system automatically enhances the brightness when Long leaves QTSC.
Long says that these utilities, in cooperation with some domestic and foreign partners, are being successfully tested. When the entire smart system is completely installed this year, it will benefit not only employees of his company but also all the 140 enterprises specializing in software, digital content, IT services operating in QTSC and nearly 21,000 people working and studying here. This is also the “key tool” for creating a modern and smart working environment where operational businesses can thrive while potential newcomers, especially big players in the top 100 worldwide, can set their footprint.
Currently, besides the 140 ICT enterprises, QTSC has attracted 33 investors with a total registered capital of nearly VND6 trillion. Currently, there are six projects under construction, one in the second phase and seven receiving land lease right. In particular, software firm MISA this June will inaugurate its 4,000-squaremeter building which is used as company’s headquarters in HCMC accommodating 500 employees. Le Huu Nguyen, administration business center director of MISA, said, “The investment in QTSC helps us grow stronger and attract more talents. QTSC has so far been a good place for ICT businesses. They have many initiatives to support customers. Especially, QTSC is gradually offering a standard model, a real smart city for us and ICT businesses in general.” Apart from MISA, QTSC has attracted supporting projects such as kindergartens and medical services.
For its part, QTSC has carried out several projects. This March, the company will put into use the High-tech Agriculture Research and Development Center with the application of IT in aquaculture to ensure the lowest cost and high productivity. This is also an ecosystem for farmers, experts, distributors and traders to exchange information. Next month, QTSC Building 1 will be commissioned to meet the expansion and development needs of enterprises. In the second quarter of this year, the company will commence the construction on a food court complex to serve the local community.
In 2017, the company also strengthens the cooperation with domestic and foreign associations, and promotes activities connecting businesses operating in QTSC in order to develop a strong ICT community.
On a larger scale, Long says his company is completing the plan and procedures for the establishment of another QTSC to be located in HCMC’s Cu Chi District to submit to the city’s government for approval. In the pipeline is also Quang Trung Software City master plan by 2020, including QTSC-Da Lat.
HONORING BEST-PERFORMING ENTERPRISES
