On
the morning of November 26th, 2013, Quang Trung Software City (QTSC)
co-ordinated International Data Corporation (IDC) in organizing the
seminar on “3rd Platform, the combination of trends - cloud, big data,
mobility and social network” with the participation of more than 30
enterprises in QTSC.
The seminar was presented by Mr. Roger Ling – Manager of IT Services Group, IDC. Currently, information technology (IT) has developed on the 3rd platform, Ling said.
- The 1st platform began from the period of internet development to 1986 including mainframe computers and terminals.
- The 2nd platform was based on LAN/internet, PCs, client/server in the period of 1986 - 2011.
- 3rd
platform has strongly developed from 2011 including cloud computing,
big data, social and mobile. Among them, cloud computing will be a new
standard and supports firmly enterprises, multinationals in joining
global supply chain.
According
to IDC’s survey, enterprises will gradually increase the cost of
software services, cloud computing and mobile applications. However,
there is an aggregated total of 75% agree to the fundamental need to
retrain to be successful in the 3rd platform.
