The Pride Of The IT Circle

Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) is on the way to being the pride of software businesses in particular and in the information technology (IT) in general. QTSC is emerging as a true hi-tech park in Vietnam.
The QTSC authority will integrate such services as electricity, water and Internet into a smart technological system to provide better convenience for companies operating in the software park. Enterprises in QTSC will use a smart card which delivers benefits when card-holders use services, dining for example, in the park.
The new convenience exemplifies an innovation among the many in a development plan to turn QTSC into a smarter city and a true tech park.
Management reform
According to Lam Nguyen Hai Long, deputy CEO of QTSC, such innovations are feasible and aimed at improving the software park’s quality and prestige. When the plan fully works, customers and workers at the park will realize they are about to enter a true tech park right at the gate. The management of infrastructure, services and conveniences will be digitized. “For example, at present QTSC manages 18 buildings,” says Long. “The digitization through the 3-D technology will make the management of such assets more effective.” According to him, software outsourcing companies usually work 24 hours a day. Consequently, apart from good infrastructure, the administration must also be good for smooth operations of these companies. At present, QTSC is applying SMS technology in internal talks to save time and costs.
All these innovations come under a common name—the Geographic Information System (GIS). To implement the system successfully, two elements are mandatory: good technology infrastructure and well-trained employees who can operate the GIS efficiently. “Technology infrastructure at QTSC is good now,” says Long. “We will continue training and recruiting talents.” It takes around three years to invest in and put the system into use. At that time, this diversified system will supply smart solutions for customers operating in QTSC.
Formerly, a strong point of QTSC in investors’ eyes related to a wide range of incentives. Currently, along with incentives, professional and diverse services press home another advantage. In the near future, a smart tech park will make QTSC more appealing.
 Pride of customers
In addition to the management reform, making customers feel proud when doing business in QTSC is the second element of the development plan. In other words, customers will live and work in a true tech park which will help customers do business more efficiently as well as retain their clients.
QTSC has carried out these tasks over the years, which will be implemented more effectively in the future. “We are proud of being the first to organize the biggest IT outsourcing event in Vietnam recently – the Vietnam IT Outsourcing Conference 2015,” Long says. “Our customers received remarkable benefits from the event, including chances to seek international partners.”
The CEO Club at QTSC has attracted managers from IT companies operating in and outside of QTSC. Apart from a pledge to prevent a drain on talents by not recruiting staff members of one another, the CEO Club is also a corporate matchmaking playground. For instance, a small-scale company seeking support to meet a big order of an international customer is very likely to find at least one or two suitable partners at the CEO Club.
Meanwhile, HR Club, another club of the park, will update IT human resources or the average salary of each position in the market for enterprises, helping them setting up better training and recruitment plans. “These are the added values QTSC is offering,” says Long. “They are hard to be found elsewhere.”
Moreover, QTSC continues to attract newcomers. In particular, new incentives allow the park to focus on attracting influential investors who regard Vietnam as a gateway to ASEAN.
On a macro scale, the park’s KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is to fill its empty space, in an effort to create added value for IT applications in society. All considered, QTSC will be the springboard for Vietnam’s IT.
