Tiếp nối thành công của sự kiện VNITO 2015, Công viên phần mềm Quang Trung (QTSC) đã phối hợp với Liên minh các doanh nghiệp xuất khẩu dịch vụ CNTT (VNITO Alliance) và Trung tâm Xúc tiến Thương mại và Đầu tư Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (ITPC) tổ chức “Hội nghị Xuất khẩu Dịch vụ Công nghệ thông tin Việt Nam (VNITO) 2017” lần thứ 2 vào ngày 19-20 tháng 10 năm 2017 tại GEM Center, Quận 1, TP. Hồ Chí Minh.

Smart urban model applied at Quang Trung Software City

Quang Trung Software City (QTSC), the first and largest software park in Vietnam, has a total area of 43 hectares as originally designed. To date, QTSC has attracted around 150 information technology (IT) companies, with five of them employing more than 1,000 people. QTSC now has 20 office buildings, five IT training centers, four bank transaction offices, 20 parking lots, apartments for experts, dormitories, underground power lines and wastewater treatment system, a kindergarten, a healthcare center, an incubator, and a business support center, among others. The software park is home to about 20,000 workers and students.

International consulting group KPMG ranks QTSC third among eight technology parks in Asia based on indicators such as occupancy, incentive policy, and telecommunications infrastructure. QTSC is fourth in terms of size, efficiency of businesses, foreign direct investment (FDI) and human resource quality. All in all, QTSC has emerged as a technology park with outstanding incentives, and investors from a wide range of sectors and with sustainable growth. In the development process, QTSC has faced a slew of challenges in maintaining the 24/7 readiness of infrastructure and security, and improving management and service quality to meet the rising demand of enterprises. The software city has been exploring ways to better management and catch up with global integration trends so that it can be comparable to technology parks elsewhere in the world. QTSC has actively applied state-of-the-art technology to facilitate internal management since the beginning of 2016. The move is aimed at developing it into a smart city model with three main objectives: improving the quality of administration, raising the satisfaction of the internal community, and developing the brand of Quang Trung Software City. Therefore, QTSC will focus on three steps in order to achieve these goals. The first is to build and implement IT applications for internal management, and support and serve the community on the digital platform. The second is to connect technology and data applications on the same platform. The last is to share, analyze and use data, as well as predict future scenarios to map out development policies. These steps will be simultaneously carried out and updated to produce immediate results. So far, QTSC has achieved positive results such as: - SMS application: shortening the time needed to inform customers from two days (equivalent to 2,880 minutes) to two minutes, and reducing the service fee from VND15,000 to VND3,000 per customer - Digitalization of internal technical infrastructure - Public lighting: saving 35% of electric power consumption - Environment: well managing 11 wastewater parameters such as chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), pH, total suspended solids (TSS), ammonium, nitrate, sulfur, phosphate, and total grease in real time, and instantly issue warnings whenever any parameter exceeds the permissible level. - Internal traffic: bike sharing helps shorten travel time by three to seven minutes each commute. - Internal safety and security: having detected number plates of four people who caused disturbance and handed them over to the local police station. Based on these initial results, QTSC is striving to optimize existing apps and develop new ones, gradually integrate data and apps on the same platform, and build open platforms for third-party customers. CEO meeting in September

On 27th September 2017, QTSC’s CEO club held a meeting at DIGI-TEXX Vietnam Company with the topic on “Training and developing the replacement leadership”

Opening the program, the club would be glad to welcome 3 new members from Misa and Terralogic. Then, they took a tour to visit DIGI-TEXX and listened to its introduction. Mr. Tran Phuc Hong, VP of TMA Solutions, updated new information of VNITO Conference 2017 will be held on October 19-20, 2017 at GEM Center, District 1, HCMC. Mr. Anthony Tran, Managing Director of Global Ready, who has over 15 years of program development and corporate training experience with multinational companies and educational institutions in both Canada and Vietnam, shared on “Leadership Development & Executive Coaching” Anthony Tran emphasized what priorities the entrepreneur or leadership need to implement and what pitfalls that executives avoid in setting vision and strategy, reshaping corporate culture and employee behavior, monitoring corporate financial information. As an Executive Coach, Tony works with executives in organizations, to enhance their leadership and management effectiveness, including the areas of stakeholder engagement, conflict, delegation strategies, balancing people and task and interpersonal effectiveness. At the end of the program, club members discussed the activity plan of Leadership Development Forum. Some ideas for forum model were given by the CEOs: Invite those who are successful entrepreneurs as the speakers, invite professional trainers, CEO and chairman from enterprises operating in QTSC for training courses, and send excellent employees to attend high quality training programs. However, to accomplish all of these tasks requires the great determination and consensus of CEOs. Sinh hoạt câu lạc bộ CEO tháng 9/2017

Chiều 27/9/2017, câu lạc bộ CEO đã có buổi sinh hoạt tháng 9/2017 tại công ty DIGI-TEXX Việt Nam với chủ đề “Đào tạo và phát triển đội ngũ lãnh đạo kế tiếp”

Mở đầu chương trình, câu lạc bộ CEO đã chào đón 3 thành viên mới đến từ công ty MISA và công ty Terralogic tham gia câu lạc bộ và tham quan, nghe giới thiệu về công ty DIGI-TEXX Việt Nam. Tiếp theo, ông Trần Phúc Hồng – Phó Giám đốc công ty TMA Solutions đã cập nhật thông tin về hội nghị VNITO 2017 sẽ được tổ chức vào ngày 19-20/10/2017 tại trung tâm hội nghị GEM center. Tại buổi gặp gỡ, diễn giả Anthony Tran – Giám đốc điều hành Global Ready đã trình bày chủ đề “Leadership Development & Executive Coaching”. Ông Anthony Tran đã có hơn 15 năm phát triển chương trình đào tạo doanh nghiệp với các công ty đa quốc gia và các cơ sở giáo dục ở cả Canada và Việt Nam. Ông Anthony Tran đã nhấn mạnh những điểm cần làm và những cạm bẫy mà một nhà quản lý và điều hành doanh nghiệp hay mắc phải về thiết lập tầm nhìn và chiến lược của doanh nghiệp, định hình lại văn hóa doanh nghiệp và hành vi của nhân viên, giám sát thông tin tài chính doanh nghiệp. Ông Anthony Tran cũng đưa ra những lời khuyên để phát triển một doanh nghiệp và tổ chức nhằm tăng cường hiệu quả quản lý của các CEO về các chiến lược phát triển, sử dụng nhiều ứng dụng mới trong công tác quản lý, phương pháp cân bằng giữa con người và công việc, nâng cao hiệu quả làm việc của mỗi cá nhân. Cuối chương trình, các thành viên câu lạc bộ đã thảo luận kế hoạch hoạt động của diễn đàn Leadership Development Forum dự kiến thành lập trong thời gian tới. Một số ý kiến thảo luận về mô hình hoạt động của diễn đàn được các CEO đưa ra: Mời những diễn giả là những doanh nhân thành công trong các lĩnh vực đến thuyết trình trong một số buổi đào tạo, mời những chuyên gia huấn luyện chuyên nghiệp đến đào tạo, mời các CEO và chairman tại QTSC đào tạo một vài chuyên đề và cuối cùng là cử những cá nhân hạt nhân của công ty tham gia các khóa đào tạo ở các trung tâm đào tạo có uy tín. Để thực hiện được tất cả những công việc này, đòi hỏi sự quyết tâm, đồng lòng rất lớn của CEO các doanh nghiệp trong nội khu. IT personnel needs better care, training

According to the Vietnam Information Technology Outsourcing Alliance (VNITO), 2016 notched up a successful year for the local software industry whose total revenue amounted to around US$1 billion last year. Coming with such a robust growth are also urgencies of qualified human resources training.

At the press briefing on the upcoming Vietnam Information Technology Outsourcing Conference 2017 (VNITO 2017), VNITO Chairman Lam Nguyen Hai Long said preliminary statistics show that last year’s revenue from software and information technology (IT) outsourcing of Vietnam might have reached US$1 billion. Opportunities and challenges Nguyen Huu Le, board chairman of TMA Solutions, said an engineer worki1ng in the software outsourcing or IT services in Vietnam can generate products worth US$20,000 (approximately VND450 million). Therefore, a software outsourcing company staffed by 1,000 engineers may earn annual sales of some US$20 million. At present, Vietnam’s IT outsourcing is facing both opportunities and challenges. On the one hand, Vietnam has been assessed by many international research organizations as a suitable destination in the global IT outsourcing map. On the other, the fourth-generation technological revolution has spurred the demand for IT human resources in both quantity and quality. Challenges, however, are that IT businesses must increase production capacity to meet growing customer expectations as a way to sustain the development of the IT outsourcing industry in the long term. According to representatives of IT outsourcing firms, English-speaking markets—including many European countries, the U.S. and Australia—are Vietnam’s biggest and the most fastidious markets. Vietnam is now facing harsh competition from India and China in this industry, though. A decade ago, Vietnam’s outsourcing enterprises relied on low costs to attract orders. Japanese IT companies often chose Vietnam as their software outsourcing partner mainly for this reason. Times have changed. Most Japanese key tech firms have now agreed to pay higher prices for their outsourcing partners in Vietnam which the former deem to be able to implement more complicated contracts. Viet Ho, chief procurement officer and managing director of Russell Investments, said Vietnam was once cited as a venue where IT personnel’s salaries were relatively cheap. In the future, however, that advantage may no longer be distinct as Vietnam is likely to encounter harsh competition from other countries. For instance, IT labor costs in HCMC are lower than those of India’s “first-class” cities, but they are higher than those of “second-class” or “third-class” localities. India can transfer outsourcing jobs to localities having lower labor costs to lure more contracts and will thus intensify competition against Vietnam. Viet Ho added that the global software export is estimated to be over US$200 billion, of which Vietnam accounts for merely US$200-300 million, or 0.1%. As a result, Vietnam’s potential for software outsourcing development in particular and IT in general remains remarkable. Insufficient human resources Nguyen Huu Le of TMA Solutions said large number of orders during peak seasons have forced many firms, including his, to turn down some orders, leaving such chances to other foreign rivals. In fact, human resources for the IT industry in general and software outsourcing in particular have failed to fully exploit all opportunities. The shortage of quality personnel has produced fluctuations on the labor market, which has resulted in prohibitively expensive IT labor costs. Exorbitantly high salaries for software engineers and programmers are now a headache to businesses in the sector when it comes to recruitment for carrying out their new orders. Formerly, it wasn’t a tough job for an IT company to hire a staff of 100 employees within a month. However, such a task is almost impossible for many. Skilled, experienced employees have become rarer, and job hopping has made the labor market unstable. VietnamWorks.com, an online recruitment website, said the monthly salary for applicants who are fresh graduates or have two-year working experience is US$600-800. According to many technical experts, such a wage is fairly high compared with the salary policy of most local IT companies. Nguyen Quoc Hung, board chairman of Logigear, said the U.S. and North American markets have requested higher expertise, productivity and experience from software outsourcing engineers over the past two years. Therefore, domestic software outsourcing companies should invest more in research and development (R&D) and training of young engineers to improve their skills and foreign language commands. Furthermore, IT outsourcing firms should also intensify their sales promotion and market development activities. More trade and cooperation opportunities will help companies secure their markets and attract new customers. VNITO Chairman Lam Nguyen Hai Long, a representative of the organizing board of VNITO 2017, said this year’s event aims to promote Vietnam as a leading destination of IT services. Earlier, VNITO members conducted market surveys and trade promotion sessions with foreign trade agencies to forge trade partnership and expand markets for domestic IT outsourcing enterprises. Triển khai ứng dụng mô hình đô thị thông minh tại Công viên phần mềm Quang Trung

Công viên Phần mềm Quang Trung (QTSC) là công viên phần mềm tập trung đầu tiên và lớn nhất tại Việt Nam. Ngay từ ban đầu, QTSC đã được thiết kế theo định hướng mô hình đô thị phần mềm (software city) trên tổng diện tích 43ha.

Tính đến thời điểm này, QTSC đã thu hút được 150 doanh nghiệp công nghệ thông tin trong đó có 5 doanh nghiệp có quy mô trên 1000 người. Với quy mô 20 tòa nhà văn phòng, 5 trung tâm đào tạo CNTT, 4 phòng giao dịch ngân hàng, 15 bãi đỗ xe, khu nhà ở chuyên gia và khu ký túc xá, hệ thống lưới điện ngầm hóa, hệ thống xử lý nước thải, trường mầm non, phòng y tế, trung tâm ươm tạo doanh nghiệp, trung tâm hỗ trợ kinh doanh, … QTSC đã chính thức trở thành một “software city” phục vụ cho 20.000 người học tập,làm việc thường xuyên. Gần đây,  theo đánh giá mới nhất của tập đoàn tư vấn KPMG thì QTSC xếp thứ 3 trên tổng số 8 khu công nghệ tại châu Á khi đánh giá về các yếu tố liên quan đến hiệu quả hoạt động của khu như tỷ lệ lấp đầy, chính sách đãi ngộ, hạ tầng viễn thông, đứng thứ 4 khi đánh giá về các yếu tố liên quan đến quy mô, hiệu quả hoạt động của các doanh nghiệp trong khu, như mức độ thu hút vốn FDI, quy mô doanh nghiệp FDI, tay nghề của nguồn nhân lực, … Nhìn tổng thể, QTSC nổi bật lên trong số các khu công nghệ được đánh giá như là một khu công nghệ với chính sách ưu đãi vượt trội, thu hút đa dạng nhà đầu tư từ các ngành nghề khác nhau, và đặc biệt là các doanh nghiệp trong khu đều phát triển bền vững và ngày một lớn mạnh. Trong quá trình phát triển, QTSC gặp không ít những khó khăn, thách thức trong hoạt động quản trị, điều hành của một “software city” như: đảm bảo hệ thống cơ sở hạ tầng luôn sẵn sàng 24 x 7; quản lý trật tự, kiểm soát an ninh; nâng cao năng lực phục vụ nhu cầu ngày càng lớn, phức tạp của các doanh nghiệp và những người học tập và làm việc,... Trong bối cảnh đó, QTSC đã tìm kiếm giải pháp quản lý nội khu nhằm giải quyết được các thử thách trước mắt nhưng phải theo kịp xu hướng hội nhập quốc tế để nâng tầm QTSC sánh ngang với khu công nghệ của các nước dựa trên nền tảng công nghệ thông tin. Đầu năm 2016, QTSC đã chủ động ứng dụng công nghệ để giải quyết các bài toán về quản trị nội khu để nâng tầm QTSC ngày một thông minh hơn, tiến đến trở thành một hình mẫu về đô thị thông minh đầu tiên của cả nước với 3 mục tiêu chính đó là (i) nâng cao chất lượng quản trị, điều hành, (ii) gia tăng sự hài lòng của cộng đồng nội khu và (iii) phát triển thương hiệu QTSC. Để đạt được những mục tiêu này, kế hoạch của QTSC tập trung vào 3 bước gồm: Xây dựng và triển khai ứng dụng công nghệ thông tin các hoạt động quản lý nội khu, hỗ trợ và phục vụ cộng đồng trên nền tảng số hóa; Kết nối các ứng dụng công nghệ, dữ liệu trên cùng một nền tảng chung (platform); Chia sẻ, phân tích, khai thác dữ liệu và dự báo các diễn biến trong tương lai để hoạch định các chính sách phát triển. Các nội dung này được diễn ra đồng thời, liên tục cải tiến nhằm phát huy ngay lập tức các kết quả của quá trình triển khai.  Cho đến nay, QTSC đã đạt được một số kết quả nhất định, điển hình như: - Ứng dụng SMS: giảm thời gian cung cấp thông tin cho khách hàng từ 2 ngày (tương đương 2.880 phút) xuống còn 2 phút, giảm chi phí chuyển thông tin cho khách hàng từ 15.000 đồng còn 3.000 đồng cho một khách hàng. - Số hóa toàn bộ hạ tầng kỹ thuật nội khu. - Trong lĩnh vực chiếu sáng công cộng: tiết kiệm 35% điện năng tiêu thụ. - Trong lĩnh vực môi trường: quản lý được 11 thông số nước thải đầu ra (COD, BOD, lưu lượng, pH, TSS, TDS, Amonium, Nitrat, Sunfua, Phosphat, tổng dầu mỡ) theo thời gian thực, cảnh báo tức thời khi có thông số vượt ngưỡng quy định. - Trong lĩnh vực giao thông nội khu: ứng dụng chia sẻ xe đạp làm rút ngắn thời gian di chuyển giữa các vị trí từ 3 – 7 phút cho 1 lần di chuyển. - Trong lĩnh vực an ninh, an toàn nội khu: phát hiện biển số xe của 4 trường hợp phá rối, gây mất an ninh nội khu và chuyển giao cho công an phường xử lý. - Và một số kết quả từ các lĩnh vực khác. Từ những kết quả đạt được ban đầu, QTSC tiếp tục kiên trì tối ưu hóa, mở rộng phát triển thêm các ứng dụng công nghệ, từng bước tích hợp dữ liệu, các ứng dụng trên một nền tảng và hướng tới nền tảng mở cho bên thứ 3 khai thác. Việc ứng dụng mô hình đô thị thông minh vào QTSC là một quá trình dài hạn và là một trong những mục tiêu quan trọng để đưa QTSC sớm trở thành top các khu phần mềm hàng đầu Châu Á. Nguồn: QTSC

QTSC welcomed the Korean software businesses

On the afternoon of 8th September 2017, the Korean software businesses delegation visited and worked at Quang Trung Software City (QTSC).

Opening the meeting, Mr. Jin Huyn Han – President and CEO of KTNet (Korea Trade Network), the former Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea, introduced the delegation including companies specialized in data security, artificial intelligence, electronic document system, video conference, power grid,… The meeting aimed to learn investment environment and seek cooperation opportunities in QTSC and HCMC, he added. Then, QTSC’s representative had a present on its establishment and development process, as well as the preferential policies for businesses operating here. In addition, QTSC would like to invite the delegation to participate the VNITO Conference 2017 (http://vnito2017.vnito.org/) will be held by QTSC and VNITO Alliance on 19-20 October 2017 at GEM Center, HCMC, Vietnam.
